-
Advanced Forged Composite Technology
A state-of-the-art high-pressure molding process is used to produce complex-shaped carbon fiber components that are lighter, stiffer and stronger than similar components made from aluminum. This technology is used in critical performance parts such as Maestro Suspension rocker links.
-
ALUXX SL Aluminum Technology
This High-Performance level, state-of-the-art aluminum material is made predominantly from 6011 alloy and delivers best-in-class strength-to-weight ratios. These framesets also feature unique welding technologies for a high-performance ride quality.
-
Maestro Suspension Technology
Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages all work together to create a single floating pivot for the most active, efficient and independent suspension system on the trail.
-
OverDrive
Giant’s original oversized fork steerer tube technology. Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/4” lower and 1 1/8” upper for road, 1 1/2” lower and 1 1/8” upper for mountain) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.
-
Tubeless System
Fewer flat tires. Greater traction. Less rolling resistance and a smoother, faster ride. Giant’s Tubeless System makes it easier than ever to experience all these benefits.
-
Flip Chip - Maestro
The flip chip allows riders to quickly adjust the geometry of their Maestro-equipped mountain bike to better suit how and where they ride. It lets riders change the headtube/seattube angles and bottom bracket height via eccentric (offset, two-position) hardware located on the upper rocker arm.
Overview
Overview
From loam to chunder, alpine peaks to desert rock, this trail slayer has a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear for the ultimate combo of quickness and control. With 145mm of rear suspension, a beefy 160mm fork, and adjustable geometry, it’s ready to let loose on black diamond descents.
Key Performance Factors
- Updated suspension: This “SX” series features all-new Maestro rear suspension with added travel (145mm) for technical singletrack and rugged descents. The trunnion mount shock and Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm combine for a longer stroke that has a smooth, active feel, plus greater stiffness in the chassis for precision control. The rear suspension is paired with a longer travel 160mm fork, giving riders superior confidence and control on the descents.
- Adjustable trail geometry: A three-position Maestro flip chip lets riders dial in frame geometry to suit their riding style and terrain. The high setting adds more ground clearance, a good option for tight, technical terrain. In the low setting, the head tube gets slacker and the bottom bracket drops, ideal for confident handling at higher speeds. The middle position is neutral. In addition, a new headset flip chip adjusts reach so you can easily achieve your preferred positioning.
- Mixed wheel setup: A 29-inch front wheel provides speed, stability and front-end control on rough, technical trails. A 27.5-inch rear wheel adds agility and maneuverability to help riders rail corners, pop over features and show off their style.
