Shawnee Trail Cycling Club: Group & Road Riding Orientation

October 3rd, 2020 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

SO MANY new bikes sold in this country since Covid-19 has entered our lives.   There haven't been enough bicycles on the shelves for people to buy.  A very positive side effect of a horribly negative situation.   Because of this, Shawnee Trail Cycling Club is going to revitalize our long running class for those new to both riding on the road and in groups.

This hour long Zoom session will cover what you need to know about the law while on your bike.  What's allowed and what's not.   We'll go into common best practices to keep yourself safe.  We'll even cover some of the equipment and apparel you should have in hand.

Red Maple Ride

October 3rd & 4th, 2020 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Waxahachie, Texas

Event starts Oct 3rd at 7am to 12pm. Come back for a second day of riding on October 4th, starting at 7am to 12pm. The ride is self-supported! We will have concessions for sale at the start/finish line. There is also a grocery store, Brookshire Brothers, about halfway through the 15 mile mark in Maypearl.

On Saturday we will have the best BBQ in the DFW food truck, On Point Texas BBQ.

55 miler (has 4 miles of gravel), 40 (gravel and road options), 30 (gravel only option), 22 and 12 mile routes (both are road, with little to no gravel). The routes stay open, so feel free to do as many routes as you'd like in that time frame.

Beautiful country roads, mixed terrain, rolling hills, low traffic!
